7 Mistakes to Avoid When Hiring a Luxury Car Service

If you’ve got an event planned or an important client to impress, you might be looking into a luxury car service for your transportation needs. This is a great way to give your clients the full luxury experience and make your company look great.

If you’ve never hired luxury cars before, though, you could end up making some rookie mistakes that could cost you money or even be embarrassing.

If you want to avoid any potential mishaps, don’t worry, we’ve been through it already. We can help you stray away from some of the most common mistakes that people make when hiring luxury vehicles.

Keep reading to learn all about it.

1. Only Looking at Price

It’s okay to price shop, everyone does it. Let’s face it, we all want a good deal if we can get one, right?

However, if your only factor for choosing a luxury car service is the price, you’re going to have a bad time. If one company is undercutting the rest, especially by a large margin, it’s likely that they’re cutting corners elsewhere.

Make sure that when you find a great deal you look at the rest of what the service has to offer. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

2. Not Price-Shopping at All

Surprise!

While you shouldn’t be looking at price exclusively, doing a bit of window-shopping while you figure out how much you’re able to spend totally makes sense.

Some companies offer the same services for a more affordable price than others. Sometimes you can find deals for certain situations. This is a big expense, and you don’t want to spend more than you have to.

So, to review, it’s okay to want to save a bit of money. Just make sure you’re not only looking to save money.

3. Hiring Without Reviews

Internet reviews can be tricky.

They can really make or break a business, and it’s theorized that more people leave negative reviews than positive ones unless otherwise prompted. Then, it makes it difficult to tell what’s really going on with the service.

That means when a service has good reviews, though, that it’s probably pretty good. Read through the reviews, not just the star rating, and see if the service aligns with that you personally need from it.

Skipping the reviews could lead you into a situation where you end up with someone that completely is misaligned with you. If a company has no reviews at all, that’s also suspicious. Maybe they’re new, but if that’s the case, do you want to be the guinea pig? Especially if you’re impressing clients?

Stick with what other people are saying. Don’t trust just the top or the bottom, but most realistic reviews are the ones in the middle.

4. Booking the Wrong Car

How awkward.

If you’re booking a luxury car service, you probably have pretty specific vehicular needs.

If you’re too quick or careless with your booking, you could end up with something that doesn’t work at all for what you’re trying to do.

Maybe it doesn’t have enough seats, or maybe it has too many. Maybe it’s too bulky, or too loud.

Maybe your boss or client had a very specific model in mind and you completely dropped the ball on that instruction. Maybe this car is way outside of your budget.

While some companies may be lenient with adjusting bookings, you should be careful and make sure that you’re getting everything that you need on the first try.

5. Not Discussing Payment Details

There will likely be a discussion of prices when you’re booking your car.

Don’t leave it to what’s said upfront. Continue inquiring about any further charges that could possibly come up. Are there cleaning costs? Costs for gas? Costs for certain kinds of communication between yourself and the driver?

Are there late or early fees?

Some of these seem obvious, but you need to ask first so there are no unpleasant surprises later. You want to be on the same page as your luxury car service.

6. Booking Late

Maybe you’ve realized day-off, or even the night before that you really need this luxury car service for whatever purpose that you’re using it for. You need to bring your client from the airport to your business in style.

A lot of these services are busy and require an earlier booking if you want to know that your experience is going to go smoothly.

If it’s a slow period, you may be able to book the night before and have no problems. Wouldn’t it be better, though, to save yourself the trouble and stress and book ahead of time? This isn’t Uber, this is a luxury service.

7. Not Doing Research

Anyone with a license can drive a car. You want to make sure you’re getting the car service that suits your needs.

It’s important for you to look into license and insurance information, overall ratings and safety ratings, and the services that are offered. If you choose blindly, you could end up missing out on a service that better suits your needs elsewhere.

Are You Prepared to Hire Your Luxury Car Service?

Renting a luxury car for your business or client needs can be a great way to really amp up their experience. If you get it wrong though, you can run into some embarrassing experiences. Don’t make these mistakes when you’re looking for your luxury car service and you’ll be headed for success.

7 Tips for Choosing Luxury Black Car Service for Corporate Travel

In the world of business, first impressions mean everything. From your suit to choosing a luxury black car service, you want to show style and class.

The next time you have a business trip, use these tips to pick the right vehicle. Comfort and class produce an image that others want to follow.

1. Know Your Budget

Renting a luxury vehicle over a standard rental from an airport will be much more expensive. Within the luxury category, prices will vary from a Mercedes to a Porsche.

Conduct your own research and compare prices. Examine each company and ask about hidden fees or extra perks. Do you get a driver with your rental? If you rent a limousine, what extra features are included in the cost?

Ultimately, you should understand that the comfort and style will produce a higher price tag for your bottom line.

2. What Does the Vehicle Say?

What kind of message is your luxury car sending about the company? A limousine or Range Rover might convey to people that your business is doing well. Renting a Lamborghini might show potential business partners that you’re irresponsible.

Depending on your business, the color and type of vehicle should match your mission and goals.

For example, an accounting firm wouldn’t want to rent a bright pink convertible for corporate travel. A social media influencer with millions of teenage followers would fare well with a bright-colored flashy car.

Both of these entities have business objectives and require travel, but their vehicles must match their visions.

3. Cut to the Chase

When you start speaking with a reputable luxury vehicle company, make sure you cut to the chase and provide a list of everything you need. A list makes it easier for the company to run through their inventory to match what you want.

You don’t have to explain your choices or justify any demands. If rental management cannot provide exactly what’s on your list of needs, then ask about alternative solutions.

Imagine you are trying to secure a luxury vehicle to pick up an important executive. The executive enjoys having chilled drinks in the back of a limousine, but the company cannot provide a vehicle with refrigeration. Ask management if they can buy cold drink options just before they get the executive.

Remember, this is your reputation and the right vehicle will help uphold that image.

4. Who Is Driving?

Do you want a driver or a chauffeur for your corporate affairs? Knowing the difference between the two can make or break a business trip.

Drivers

Anyone can be a driver. The rise of Uber and Lyft has shown that anyone with a driver’s license can become qualified to shuttle people around.

Unfortunately, there have been too many legal and social problems with the drivers of these services. There’s no real vetting of credentials other than a simple background check.

When a company promotes its drivers, ask about their experience as professional drivers or clean driving records.

Chauffeurs

A chauffeur brings a whole new level of class and professionalism to the business world.

Chauffeurs have extensive experience driving executives, VIPs, celebrities, and political dignitaries. They understand the conditions, timing, and layout of the city and roads.

When you have a chauffeur, you can expect to be cared for and listened to by a professional who can anticipate your needs.

5. Inspect the Fleet of a Luxury Black Car Service

If time permits, always inspect the vehicle fleet in person. Photographers can do wonders with editing software; they can make old run-down vehicles look brand new.

Don’t end up in a nightmare scenario where you rent a luxury car without inspecting the fleet. Nothing would be worse than a dirty and broken down car arriving to transport VIPs.

While you’re going over the cars in person, ask for a test drive. A Mercedes might look great but handle really rough. Test the brakes, acceleration, handling, and turning.

6. Referrals and Reputation

You want to rent from a luxury vehicle company that has an excellent reputation. Having a good reputation doesn’t mean they are perfect, but it means they will make things right if something wrong happens.

Referrals from other organizations will help put your mind at ease. You can also call the company you’re thinking of using and ask for a list of references of satisfied customers.

Another method of figuring out if you want to explore using a rental company is by looking at reviews.

Reviews offer a plethora of opinions and experiences. Too many negative reviews don’t always reflect the service, but you should raise constructive questions. A majority of positive reviews doesn’t mean the company is perfect.

Do your own research and digging to find out if the company has an excellent reputation and proper credentials.

7. Shop Around

You can’t guarantee amazing service or affordable pricing without shopping around for different options.

Call and see if a company can provide packages or services at a lower rate for repeat business. Additionally, see if they have specials or lower fares for slower business times.

The luxury rental company might offer extra perks or benefits if they know you are shopping around for other service providers. Use their need for business to leverage a better deal.

After you find the right luxury service and vehicle, see if they are willing to exchange a review for future credit. Customer satisfaction can lead to a strong business relationship that benefits both parties for years to come.

Travel in Luxury

Your business needs to show uniformity and brand with the vehicles used for corporate travel. Make a lasting impression with vendors and clients alike.

NLA Launches PSA in Partnership with NSVRC

PR Newswire, NEW YORK ( November 2, 2016) The National Limousine Association’s Ride Responsibly™ initiative (www.rideresponsibly.org) and the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (www.nsvrc.org) have joined forces to produce a public service campaign, starring actress and activist Pamela Anderson. The PSA educates the industry and public at large about the dangers associated with ride-hailing apps. The video, titled “The Driving Game!”, is an extension of the Ride Responsibly initiative to improve safety for passengers using ride-hailing apps. In the PSA, Ms. Anderson takes a lighthearted approach at communicating the critically important point that “you can’t always vet the driver you are using, but the service you are using should.” “With an alarming number of alleged sexual assaults involving ride-hail app drivers, our partnership with the NSVRC is a vital step towards bringing these urgent matters to the forefront of conversation here in the United States,” said Gary Buffo, President of the NLA. “Due to the perilously incomprehensive background checks used by ride-hailing apps, we must establish a new nationwide standard, inclusive of fingerprinting for all ground transportation providers.” The NSRVC, known for preventing and responding to sexual violence through collaboration, sharing and creating resources and promoting research, advocates for stricter regulations to protect riders. “Prevention of sexual violence is everyone’s responsibility,” NSVRC CEO Delilah Rumburg said. “Organizations, like the National Limousine Association, have the ability to create and strengthen policies to promote safety and respect for all. We’re proud to partner with the National Limousine Association— as they work to ensure the safety of all those who use hired transportation. “Every day, millions of Americans use ride-hailing apps that do not always hold their drivers accountable for their behavior behind the wheel, leaving passengers vulnerable,” said Pamela Anderson. “Much more concerning are incidents of sexual assault. It is time we implement some common sense measures, including comprehensive background checks and drug testing, for everyone’s safety.” The NLA continuously seeks new ways to protect passengers of any ground transportation vehicle, including prearranged services and ride-hailing apps. This new PSA reinforces the message of the NLA’s 2015 Ride Responsibly campaign, encouraging passengers to “Think Before You App!”
